Questions
What families ask us
Which children can come?
Children in kindergarten through grade 5. Most of our families live near the two elementary schools within walking distance. Tell us on the contact form which days you need.
What does an afternoon look like?
Snack, then homework hour, then an activity such as a gym game, the art table, the science table or a reading circle, then the pickup window with free play. The afternoon page shows each day.
How does pickup from school work?
On the registration page, tell us how your child gets here: with an adult, with a sibling or with a person on your list. We confirm the plan with you before the first day and keep it at the front table.
Who may collect my child?
Only adults on your authorized list. We ask for photo ID from anyone we haven't met, and the adult signs the child out. The family policies page has the details.
How does tuition work?
It depends on the grade group and the number of afternoons a week. We print no figures here; the enrollment page has them, and the tuition page explains each part.
How do I hold a place, and is there a waitlist?
A place is held once you register and pay the first month. When we are full, we keep a waitlist in the order families asked and call the next family when a place opens.
Is homework help included?
A staff member sits at the tables during homework hour, answers questions and makes sure each child has started. We don't promise finished homework, so you will still look it over at night.
How much time do children spend outdoors?
On dry days part of the activity hour goes outside with staff. When it is wet, very cold or very hot, the activity moves indoors.
What if my child is sick?
A child with a fever or a contagious illness stays home. If a child becomes ill here, we call the first person on your list. The family policies page says when a child can come back.
